EXPLORE MANU NATURE

National Park of Manu is located in the provinces of Paucartambo district of Kosñipata) inCusco and Manu province districts of Fitzcarral in Madre de Dios. Its extension is 1716295.22 hectares. Its establishment seeks to protect a representative sample of the biological diversity, as well as the landscapes of the low jungle, the jungle edge and the Andes of the Peruvian south-east. Likewise, it aims to promote tourism based on ecological and culturally compatible criteria.

Manú Biosphere Reserve

Since 1977 the Manú has the status of a Biosphere Reserve, which was granted by UNESCO. On its borders is the Territorial Reserve of the Kugapakori and Nahua ethnic groups, the Megantoni National Sanctuary and the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve. At the same time, in 1987 it was declared a Natural Patrimony of the Humanity

    All visitors are requested to get acquainted with the conservation of the Manu National Park. Certain rules of conduct apply, you may, for example, not approach wild animals, you may not throw away any garbage, you may not use soap or shampoo which will contaminate rivers and lakes (we recommend the use of biodegradable soaps)

    • sleeping bag (can also be rented)
    • flashlight (with spare bulb and batteries)

      First day on EXPLORE MANU NATURE:CUSCO TO BOCA MANU AND BLANQUILLO:

      We pick you up from your hotel to bring you to the airport for the flight to Boca Manu (45 minutes) .The guide will be waiting for you at Boca Manù airstrip and from here we take the boat to Blanquillo (2 hours). In the afternoon we visit Blanco Lake looking for giant river otters, monkeys, caimans and birds. The night is spent at Blanquillo Lodge. Optional night walk.

      Second day on EXPLORE MANU NATURE: MACAW CLAY LICK AND MAMMAL SALT LICK:

      Early in the morning we go to the macaw clay lick where parrots, parakeets and macaws arrive to eat the clay. After this natural show we explore the trails around Blanquillo, always looking for monkeys and birds. After lunch we go to maquisapayoj mammal salt lick, where we will spend the entire night at the special made platform to observe the tapirs when they come to eat the clay.

      After breakfast we go back to the Boca Manù airstrip and take the flight back to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.
