Sandoval Lake

      Arrive to Puerto Maldonado the capital of biodiversity of the Peru. Reception at the airport and travel into the city. We will take a boat from the port that will take us down the Tambopata River.
      We will travel a little more than five hours to the Malinowski River located close to Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. Here we will camp. At this point we will take a two hours hike through the jungle with a guide. In the night it is possible to see caimans in the river have dinner and go to bed.

After breakfast we will return to Sandoval Lake. It will take a little more than one hour to arrive at the Mejia Lodge (basic accomodation) located close to Sandoval Lake. We will arrive and you will be placed in bungalows according to your reservation. We will walk through the jungle with a guide which will take a little more than two hours. We will see a great diversity of flora and fauna. In the night it is possible to see caimans. We will return to the lodge, have dinner and lodging.

      After breakfast, we will take a boat of the Sandoval Lake, where you can see the great diversity of flora. You will see orchids, platanillos (heliconias), ungurahuis (wild palm), and aguaje palm. You will see a great quantity of otter, ducks, black and white caimans, wild hens, taricayas (small turtles) and a variety offish. It is possible to take a refreshing bath in the lake without danger. We will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we will visit another part of the Sandoval Lake. We will return to the lodge.
      In the night it is possible to see caimans and the great diversity of wild life around the Sandoval Lake. We will have dinner and lodging.
