The department of Apurimac is located in the Andean region of the country comprising an area of about 20,891.79 square kilometers. This is the territory where the harried population of the chankas settled during the pre-Inca times.
At a tourist level, the department of Apurimac has an interesting range of tourist attractions for the practice of archaeological tourism, among which we can mention:
Archaeological complex of Curamba - It is located in the province of Andahuaylas. It is an administrative center of Inca origin. In this stand out structures such as the Inca Monte, where metallurgical furnaces are located; besides the Pyramid of Curamba that is considered a Ushnu.
